Buying notes
Is this the right fit?
- Good fit when
- Use this when you need to add, replace, or move the part that makes the sound, flashes, or provides the alert output.
- Look at another option when
- It will not create a new alert point by itself. Choose a compatible transmitter, such as a push button, door contact, PIR motion sensor, or driveway sensor, or choose a complete kit if you need both sides of the system.
- Range reality
- 5000 ft is the published open-air distance from a compatible transmitter to this receiver. The transmitter may be a push button, contact, PIR motion sensor, or driveway sensor. Walls, metal, masonry, vehicles, shelving, and dense trees can reduce that distance.
- Setup note
- Place the receiver where people need the alert, then pair it with the existing compatible transmitter. For large or divided spaces, test more than one receiver location.
The DCR-4000 acts as the indoor receiving point for compatible Dakota Alert 4000 Series products. It is a practical choice when you are building or expanding a longer-range alert system and need a receiver that can handle multiple transmitters instead of just one button or one sensor.
This receiver can work with up to 16 compatible transmitters, which makes it useful for businesses or larger layouts that need several monitored points. It offers multiple melody choices, adjustable volume up to about 85 dB, and can sit on a desk or mount on the wall depending on where the staff needs to hear it most clearly.

DCR-4000 Warehouse Doorbell Wireless Receiver
Recommend for every warehouse. Works as described.
So far this unit has worked great in our C-store, would recommend to anyone, very user friendly as well.
Our employees use these to notify coworkers of upset conditions at work. Instead of trying to change channels on two way radios we simply push the button and everyone who needs to know is aware instantly. Started with 2 receivers and I am adding 2 more.
I am very happy with the product.Very large facility can be heard throughout.
Bought a 40.00 set from Amazon . It quit within a week. Found out that we had some wireless interference from nearby equipment that caused the cheap units to not work. Spent the extra money and bought the dcr-4000. Setup was easy and worked without a problem. Even with the wireless interference, we had no issues. I will not buy another wireless doorbell system other than this one. The saying goes "you get what you pay for". This is so true. Very happy with the system we bought and I recommend this to anyone who has to install these in a commercial environment.
Works as advertised from a great distance from the transmitter.

Understanding Wireless Range: Published Specs vs. Real-World
Why Published Range Differs from Real-World Range When shopping for wireless doorbells, entrance alerts, driveway alarms, and other long-range wireless products, you’ll notice every product lists a maximum wireless range—typically stated as “up to X,000 feet.” For example, the Dakota Alert DCPA-4K-PLUS Driveway Alarm lists a range of “up to 5,000 feet.” It’s important to…
Can Two Push Buttons Play Different Sounds on a Wireless Chime Receiver
There are ways to cover multiple entrances when using a doorbell system. Click below to read the answer to the question. When we talk about using doorbell buttons for different doors we are typically referring to changing the tune a receiver (or multiple receivers) play when a paired button is pressed. Each manufacturer has a slightly…
Find a Lighted Wireless Doorbell Push Button
Most Wireless buttons are NOT available lighted as they would require power 24/7 and drain the batteries too quickly. The only illuminated wireless buttons we are aware of are the LRA-PBTX and the ERA-PBTX. This wireless transmitter features a LED bulb that lights up the center push button whenever the visitor presses it, indicating a successful transmission. The ERA-PBTX consumes…
