The white designer model, the CL-DW, is an off-white color, while the white model, the CL-W, is a bright white. Mechanically, both models are the same. The units require a 16V wired doorbell transformer; both play a 2-note tune for 1 door and a single note for a secondary door.

It was a perfect fit for my customer. She could hear it very well. We also discovered that the front/rear leads had been connected wrong, which I reversed, and now with the extra note she can hear it even better. The unit was an exact replacement to the original with the exception of the decibels.

Unfortunately I the doorbell button I ordered along with my new doorbell unit stuck when someone pushed it and we weren't home, causing the doorbell unit to also break. Called up and they immediately shipped a new doorbell unit and button. They arrived on time and the new system is working great!!
