The SS155 is a plug-in wireless strobe receiver for SS Series doorbells. Each time a paired push button or door contact is triggered, it flashes a bright LED strobe 15 times and plays your chosen chime. Add it to an SS system wherever a chime alone is easy to miss: a noisy room, a back office, or a room used by someone who is hard of hearing. It offers 58 melodies, four volume levels up to 90 dB, plus mute, and up to 600 ft of range in open air. It is the same receiver used in the WC180-SS kit.
*Wireless range is based on open-air testing. Walls, metal, masonry, and interference can reduce real-world performance. Learn more.

Buying notes
The SS155 is best used when a normal chime is too easy to miss. That can mean hearing-impaired use, a noisy room, a back office, a work area with machinery, or simply a part of the house where sound does not carry well. Instead of adding more volume, this receiver adds a clear visual flash alert when a compatible SS Series transmitter is triggered.
Because it plugs into a standard outlet, the SS155 is easy to place in the room where it will do the most good. It works with SS Series transmitters, including compatible push buttons and door contacts, and in open conditions the system is rated for up to 600 feet of range. As with other wireless products, real range depends on walls, layout, and distance between devices.

Answers from our team for SS155 Compact Wireless Strobe Receiver Provides Visual Doorbell Alert.
Yes. Press the volume button to cycle through the four volume levels to mute. On mute the receiver makes no sound, but the strobe still flashes, because the volume setting does not change the strobe.
Answered for 1800Doorbell
Not on its own. The SS155 responds only to SS Series wireless transmitters. Add an SS111 wireless push button at the door. If you need to keep your wired button, use the ERA-EXTX wired doorbell extender with an ERA-RXPG strobe receiver.
Answered for 1800Doorbell
No. It pairs only with SS Series transmitters. None of our wireless doorbells pair with Ring, and none of our products work with SimpliSafe.
Answered for 1800Doorbell
Yes. The flash color follows the melody you assign, so giving each push button or door contact its own melody also gives it its own color.
Answered for 1800Doorbell
It flashes 15 times per alert from four RGB LEDs. The supplier estimates about 6-90 lumens depending on the flash color; there is no single measured rating for the receiver. Place it where the person will see it, and add a second SS155 for another room.

Why Published Range Differs from Real-World Range When shopping for wireless doorbells, entrance alerts, driveway alarms, and other long-range wireless products, you’ll notice every product lists a maximum wireless range—typically stated as “up to X,000 feet.” For example, the Dakota Alert DCPA-4K-PLUS Driveway Alarm lists a range of “up to 5,000 feet.” It’s important to…
There are ways to cover multiple entrances when using a doorbell system. Click below to read the answer to the question. When we talk about using doorbell buttons for different doors we are typically referring to changing the tune a receiver (or multiple receivers) play when a paired button is pressed. Each manufacturer has a slightly…
Most Wireless buttons are NOT available lighted as they would require power 24/7 and drain the batteries too quickly. The only illuminated wireless buttons we are aware of are the LRA-PBTX and the ERA-PBTX. This wireless transmitter features a LED bulb that lights up the center push button whenever the visitor presses it, indicating a successful transmission. The ERA-PBTX consumes…
