Can I keep separate transformers for each unit with a two-family button?
Yes. Each button on a Lee two-family or three-family station is an independent switch with its own two terminals, and nothing on the plate connects one button to another. One unit's two wires go to one button, the other unit's wires go to the other, and each stays on its own transformer and chime exactly as before. This is the simplest way to fit a station into an older building where each apartment already has its own doorbell circuit.
