Can I Mute the WC180-SS Chime and Keep the Strobe?

Yes. The SS155 receiver in the WC180-SS flashes its strobe 15 times each time the button is pressed, at every volume setting. Mute turns off the sound only; the strobe still flashes.

Volume and melodies

• Four volume levels up to 90 dB, plus mute.
• 58 melodies. Use the forward and back buttons on the receiver to choose one.
• Each paired button or door contact can have its own melody.

Does the strobe color change?

Yes. The flash color follows the melody you assign. Melodies 1-8 flash white, red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, blue and purple. If you give each door its own melody, each door also gets its own color. See the SS155 strobe FAQ for the color of every melody and the strobe's estimated brightness.

Place the receiver where the person who needs it will see the flash. For another room, add a second SS155.
