Buying notes
Is this the right fit?
- Good fit when
- Use this when you need to add, replace, or move the part that makes the sound, flashes, or provides the alert output.
- Look at another option when
- It will not create a new alert point by itself. Choose a compatible transmitter, such as a push button, door contact, PIR motion sensor, or driveway sensor, or choose a complete kit if you need both sides of the system.
- Range reality
- 5000 ft is the published open-air distance from a compatible transmitter to this receiver. The transmitter may be a push button, contact, PIR motion sensor, or driveway sensor. Walls, metal, masonry, vehicles, shelving, and dense trees can reduce that distance.
- Setup note
- Place the receiver where people need the alert, then pair it with the existing compatible transmitter. For large or divided spaces, test more than one receiver location.
Dakota Alert has hit the proverbial "bull's eye" with its portable receiver, the PR-4000. Compatible with the full line of products in the "4000" series, this receiver allows mobility while receiving your alerts from compatible Dakota Alert transmitters like their PIR-based and magnetometer-based transmitters. Products like the UT-4000, the DCMT-4000, and the DCPA-4000 will send a wireless signal to this portable receiver and vibrate/emit a tone when it receives the signal.
An easy-to-read LCD logs the alerts (and maybe reset) and can store up to 400 alerts with a date and time stamp for easy retrieval. You can also set the portable receiver to emit an audible tone or a silent vibrating alert—the PR-4000 ships with a lithium-ion battery and a plug-in power supply. Under normal operating conditions, it should hold its charge for ten days.

The PR-2500 portable receiver does a nice job when we cant hear the other alarms. Fairly easy to set up.
This bell system works better than all the other systems weve tried for long range bells inside schools.
We have a warehouse 300 feet from the receiving dock. There is no way you are going to hear the regular door chime that we purchased so the portable alarm is the way to go. It works great for the times receiving is in the warehouse!
Great product. I love it.

Answers from our team for PR-4000 Dakota Alert Vibrating Pager/Receiver for 4000 Series.
Can I use the DCMT-4000 sensor with just the PR-4000 or do I have use a plug in receiver with the portable one to make it work.
Good morning. All products in the Dakota Alert 4000 family are compatible and you can have up to 12 transmitters and an unlimited amount of receivers. You can definitely use the DCMT-4000 with the PR-4000 and not have a plug in receiver. Please let us know if you have any other questions. Thank you, Customer Support Team 1800Doorbell
