The SS111 push button in the WC180-SS uses one 12V 23A alkaline battery. It comes installed; pull the tab to activate it. It is rated for up to about 16 months of use, depending on how often the button is pressed.

The SS155 receiver has no battery. It plugs into a standard indoor wall outlet (AC 110-220 V) and keeps its pairing and melody settings through a power outage.

How do I know the battery is low?

The push button has an LED that lights when it sends a signal. If it no longer lights when you press it, or the receiver stops responding from where it used to, replace the 23A battery. A replacement button is also sold on its own as the SS111.
