How to decide
- Check your chime voltage first. If it is outside 9-18V AC, the LRA extender will not work; the ERA-EXTX covers 5V-28V AC/DC.
- Choose ERA for large homes, detached garages, shops and warehouses, or when the signal has to cross brick or several walls. Building materials cut range for both, so the extra distance helps.
- Choose LRA for most single-family homes where 1,000 ft line of sight is plenty.
- Stay in one series. ERA receivers work with other ERA sensors (driveway, motion, door contact); LRA receivers work with LRA transmitters.
