Security lighting does not have to be expensive and you don’t need a professional electrician to install it. The HS3110D is a motion sensor-activated light adapter kit. This kit instantly adds lighting control capability to virtually any standard light socket.
The product adds security to your outdoor lighting. When motion is detected, the light turns on. You can also add the adapter kit to your basement or attic lighting to instantly turn on when motion is detected.
The kit includes a sensor and one adapter for one light socket. Note: we currently have the adaptor only, not the complete kit. Purchase the adaptor here to work with an existing kit.
The motion-activated sensor is powered by a 9-volt battery (not included) and is easy to mount with the included mounting hardware. The light adapter screws into a standard light socket. The sensor and adapter are connected with a phone-type cord (included). This unit is outdoor rated and is ideal for use with outdoor floodlights. For dual floodlights, add-on light sockets are available. Each sensor is capable of handling a total of two adapters. Add-on light socket adapters plug into the sensor.

This little, simple to install, adapter works like a charm! No need to mess with electric wires, just install a battery and you're good-to-go. This is a good way to add automated motion sensing capabilities to your driveway lights. But, the material that is made with has to be installed carefully as kind of fragile. Treat it extra gently when installing. Any rough or careless handling could break it.

1. How long is the cord that goes to the sensor? 2. I have a candelabra (small base) fixture. Can I use a regular small base to regular base adapter first, and then this? Thanks much for help.
Hi Sabra, 1) The cord is approximately 6' inches '-8 inches unstretched and expands to roughly 2 feet. 2) Honestly I can't answer that question. The manufacturer would say no, but I have never tried that configuration. One issue you could have is that stacking adapters like that makes the base too high, and thus the bulb extends too high so that it will not fit correctly in the fixture--if that makes sense.
