Buying notes
Is this the right fit?
- Good fit when
- Use this when doorbell wiring is already in place and you want a permanent, battery-free chime.
- Look at another option when
- It is not the easiest choice when there is no usable wiring, when the door is far from the chime, or when receivers are needed in several rooms.
- Range reality
- Check the listed compatibility and placement notes before ordering. Building layout often matters as much as the product rating.
- Setup note
- Check the existing transformer, button, and chime compatibility before replacing parts. Video doorbells may need more transformer capacity than an older chime did.
The DH1500L is a straightforward choice for shoppers replacing an older wired doorbell button with something more substantial. The metal housing gives it a cleaner finished look, and the lighted center helps visitors find the button at night without adding a large decorative plate.
This model is designed for wired doorbell systems only and mounts on the surface of the trim or wall area around the door. At 2 3/4 inches by 1 inch, it fits many common replacement situations, but it is still worth comparing the footprint with your existing button before ordering.

DH1505L Metal Lighted Doorbell Button In Brass or Pewter
Quick delivery
The new doorbell button was easy to install. I had already measured the distance between the mounting screws before purchase so using the same mounting screws from the old ringer I it was a seamless installation.
Better then plastic. Looks great!
great service
I was unsure what I was going to get for such a low price but it turned out to be better quality than the home improvement stores.
Carlon Metal Housing Polished Pewter or Brass Lighted Wired Button
Very happy with service
I'm an old schooler that remembers the phone company advertising "Let your fingers do the walking." The more things change, the more things stay the same. I went to four different places looking for the same style door bell button I wanted to replace, because the finish had worn off. None of the Depot type stores had that style or even close. It dawned on me to look on the net, I found the buttons I needed at 1800Doorbell in five minutes, ordered them, received quickly. Installed them and am very happy with the quality and the very reasonable price. Couldn't ask for a better experience from 1800Doorbell. They are A-1 in my book. Thanks, Steve, Crest Hill, Illinois
