We were happy for the most part with the doorbell switch except that the mounting screws that came with it did not match the finish and also they had an unthreaded shank that would not allow the screws to tighten the plate down. A trip to the hardware store and a buck later gave me matching screws that were threaded all the way up to the screw head. Looks great. Works fine.

The original doorbell laid flat on the wall, just a couple of screws to hold it onto the wall. The new doorbell, which looks great installed, had to have a large hole in the center of the wall to accommodate the wire attachment barrel. I used a flat head screwdriver to ream out a hole large enough to allow for the doorbell switch to be installed. Kinda a pain in the ass to do. Looks great installed.

Originally purchased 10 years ago at a local big box store. Not sure if it was LED back then. Door bell failed after 10 years and I purchased it again from 1800doorbell.com recently. They are now listed as LED. I like they are wider than the cheap door bells you find in the stores as the installers who did my steel siding made the door bell hole larger than I would have liked. I used clear silicone along the edges to seal. I see from the picture that I have it upside down but I like the sun at the top. Glad I found it here to match what I had.

Can this be installed on vinyl siding?
I do not see an issue with that, as long as you have a doorbell transformer that powers it and your existing doorbell, and wires available where you intent to install it.
