Replacing your Chime Systems step by step

1. Remove the button from its mounting by backing out its screws.
2. Remove the bell wires from the terminals, and touch wires together to make sure problem is not in the actual chime.
3. If there is no sound, the problem is in your chime, and you should replace it.

1. Tag the wires marked “front”, “back”, and “trans”, so you won’t mix the wires up.
2. Remove the old chime, buzzer or bell. Install the new chime.
3. Connect the tagged wires to the proper terminals

1. Purchase transformer with same voltage rating as old one. SHUT OFF POWER TO CIRCUIT!
2. Open adjacent junction box, label bell wires and disconnect them. Disconnect transformer leads inside junction box, and disconnect transformer.
3. Thread new transformer leads inside junction box, fasten transformer to the box, and splice the leads to the wires. Connect the bell wires and test.
