INSTRUCTION GUIDE
Light Control XP60 Congratulations on a wise purchase!
ENCLOSED YOU WILL FIND
- Light Control
OPERATING DESCRIPTION
Your light control is activated by changes in surrounding light. For optimum performance, the light control should be positioned in an area exposed to a strong source of natural light. Ideal positioning is in a lamp fixture located within 4 ft. of a window or other light source.
Once power is supplied to your light control, the control will turn on at dusk (or when the surrounding light level becomes low enough) and then turn off at dawn (or when the light-level is bright enough). Once the bulb automatically turns off, it will remain off until the following night. As long as power is supplied to the control, the light control will continue to cycle on and off.
INSTALLATION
Caution: For a 3-way lamp, the lamp must be set to the medium setting before installing the XP60.
- Turn "OFF" power to light fixture.
- Screw light control into light fixture.
- Screw bulb into light control.
- Position control so that the photocell eye faces a strong source of light. The ratcheting screw shell design allows you to rotate the control in a complete circle (turning clockwise).
- Turn "ON" power to light fixture (middle setting only for 3-way lamp).
- 60W Max Bulb UP
- 25W Max Bulb DOWN
- Light Sensor
- Ratcheting Screw Shell
- Lamp Socket
TO TEST
During the day, covering the light sensor with your finger should turn the light on. When you remove your finger, the light should go off.
RECOMMENDED USAGE
For indoor or outdoor use. Outdoor use must be in a protected fixture to prevent direct exposure to rain. Do not exceed 25 watts when using in an enclosed fixture.
TROUBLE SHOOTING
Problem: Control turns on at dusk during the first night of operation but does not turn on at dusk during the second night (or second timing cycle) of operation. This means the light control did not see enough light during the daylight hours to reset. This problem usually occurs on cloudy or overcast days when there is no sunlight. Solution: Move light control closer to a natural light source or rotate the Photocell on the light control toward the light (see step 4).
Problem: Light control does not turn on at all. Solution: Make sure power is supplied to light fixture. Ensure light bulb is not burned out. For 3-way lamp fixtures, make sure the lamp switch is set at the middle switch position. The light control should turn on after the photocell eye sees darkness or after the photocell eye is completely covered.
