It’s a nice quality doorbell. Everything else out there was plastic, this is nice quality metals. Its compatible with my Ring doorbell, which is part of why I was replacing it. I did need to also purchase an additional piece, a transformer I believe, so it would work properly, as advised by their support team.

I had issues with the doorbell the builder installed as once I switched to ring or nest – the doorbell sounded funny when it rang – however this bell Sol ed the, sounds great and looks amazing – I could not be happier!

I was looking for a old style Door bell with a solid sound to it… Like my folks used to have in our house when I grew up. The new stuff commonly found at the box stores with the simple bar ringers did not cut it with me… And the fancy electronic fake sounds didn’t do it for me either… This one with the brass tubes sounds sweet…

This simple upgrade to your doorbell makes a big difference. The sound is clear and rich. The chime portion that shows on the sides is metal, the one I purcahsed is patna, and lovley. The cover is plastic, but looks very nice. This needs a transformer that is sold seperately. I highly reccommend this chime.

I have an existing transformer that is rated at 16-24 volts. I checked the output with a multimeters and it is putting out 20 volts. Is this acceptable for this doorbell? Shailesh Joshi asked on 11/24/2024

No, it does not; this is only the wired door chime unit. I would recommend the DH904 or the T1610, either is fine: https://www.1800doorbell.com/doorbells/transformers/
