If you're like most people, there's always that area in your home where there isn't a light. For me, it's the coat closet in the foyer of our home, and my oldest son's closet. Rather than hiring an electrician to install a light switch and a light socket, we installed the HS4830, a battery closet light by Carlon.
With the HS4830 you manually turn the product on and off, and has a shut-off feature that will turn the product off after 20 minutes.
Simply screw in the mounting plate where you want to install the light using the supplied mounting screws. Install batteries in the unit and slide it into the mounting plate. That's all you have to do to get this useful product up and running.

How long do the batteries last?
It depends on the light and how often it turns on. The BL600 deck marker lights are rated for about a year on three AA batteries, and the BL705 motion deck lights for about 12 months on three C batteries in low mode. Closet lights and mini spotlights shut themselves off to save power. Batteries are not included with most of these lights, so check the product page for the type.

Do I need an electrician to install them?
No. There is no wiring. Most mount with the included screws or double-sided tape, and several slide onto a mounting bracket so you can take the light off to change the batteries.

Can I use them outdoors?
The BL600 deck marker lights and BL705 motion deck lights are made for decks, steps, railings and walkways. The HS4830 closet light and HS4810 mini spotlight are meant for closets, pantries, cabinets and similar indoor spaces.
