Good afternoon. This is a recessed mount push button which means that the 'guts' of the button would need to go into the wall. There would need to be a hole in the mounting surface for the back of the center push button. You would need to look for a surface mount push button which sits directly on the surface and connects to the existing wires. Thank you,
