This video demonstrates how to change the melody on an LRA-DCRXS that is ALREADY programmed to an LRA transmitter. For example, suppose you have two wireless LRA-PBTX push buttons programmed to the LRA-DCRXS, one for the front door and one for the back door of your home. While programming, you mistakenly programmed the same melody to both zones on the receiver. While this is technically okay, this isn’t the best practice because you won’t know which door triggered the receiver. Ideally, you want to program a different melody for each zone.
NOTE: when entering programming mode on the LRA-DCRXS, a red LED appears in the strobe light lens. This denotes the unit is in programming mode. The red LED supplies three notices, and they are listed below;
- Fast blinking LED. This means zone 1 is open.
- Slow blinking LED. This means zone 2 is open.
- Solid LED (no blinking). This means both zones are occupied.
Once you enter programming mode, (hold down the learning button — the one with a solid dot next to it — for approximately 3 seconds) scroll through the melodies by pushing the melody selector button. Once you find the melody you want, push the corresponding transmitter (push button). This will change the melody associated with that transmitter to the one you selected.
Changing the LRA-DCRXS Receiver:
Step 1 – Power On the Receiver
Make sure the LRA-DCRXS Receiver is plugged into a power supply.
Step 2 – Put the Recevier in Programming Melody
The “learning button” is located on the side of the receiver. It is the button labeled with a solid dot. Hold down the button for approximately three seconds. A RED LED should show in the strobe light screen. Release the learning button.
Step 2 – Select the Melody
Press and release the melody button to hear the different melodies. Once you hear the melody you want, stop pushing the button.
Step 3 – Trigger the Transmitter
Once you have selected the desired melody, trigger the transmitter you want associated with that melody. For example, for a push button, press the button. For the LRA-EXTX, press the test buttons on the unit.
Step 4 – Repeat Steps 2 & 3 to Change the Melody for Another Transmitter
If you do not have another transmitter, skip to step 5.
Step 5 – Take the LRA-DCRXS Receiver Out of Programming Mode
When programming is complete, take the unit out of programming mode by holding the learning mode button for approximately 3 seconds. The RED LED should not display on the strobe screen.
