Bells, Buzzers, Shop Bells

This category covers the parts people add when a standard chime is not enough: bells, buzzers, sirens, strobe lights and related alert accessories. They are common in workshops, warehouses, service counters and other places where a normal residential doorbell is too quiet or too easy to miss.

Bell, buzzer or shop bell?

• Bell: a striker hits a metal gong, so the sound rings and carries through a large or noisy space. The SS-FIREBELL12V is a 100 dB, 12V DC bell that wires to a push button or to the output of a compatible alert receiver.
• Buzzer: a harsh buzz instead of a ring, from a small unit that wires up like a doorbell with a transformer and push button. The DB-2000 buzzer runs on an 8-16V AC transformer.
• Shop bell: an alert for a service bay, garage or shop entrance. Here that means Milton signal bells for rubber driveway hose: a vehicle crossing the hose rings the bell. The 805 gives a louder ding-dong and the 802 a softer ding.

A strobe helps when people need to see the alert, and a siren or siren/strobe combo helps when both sound and visibility matter.

Most of these items are not stand-alone front-door products. They are usually part of a larger setup and need the correct power source or a compatible receiver output. Many use 12V DC or connect through compatible alert receivers and low-voltage accessories.
