Almost all the individual Carlon door chime products and accessories are interchangeable with one another. For example, if you purchase the RC3200 Extend-A-Chime, the receiver you get in the kit is the RC3253. That is the same receiver that appears in the RC3250 plug-in wireless door chime kit. So you could easily add additional plug in receivers to your kit to expand the listening area. You could also add the RC3301 wireless door chime button to the kit so you have doorbell button at the back door, for example.

Wireless doorbell receivers are available in two styles: Plug in wireless doorbells and Battery operated wireless doorbells.  A few of our products, like the DC-1000 Long Range Wireless Doorbell can plug in or run off of batteries.  The inherent beauty of wireless doorbells are that they are true DIY products.  Out of the box, you can plug set the wireless push button outside and plug your receiver in and you are now functional.  No wiring is needed in wireless doorbells.  Another great feature of wireless doorbells is that you can add on to the system just as easy as setting up the initial system.  For example, all of the Dimango, Carlon Wireless Door Chimes typically work together.  You can add additional receivers in other rooms and or purchase an additional push button for another door.  Most of them also feature additional sound options, which is why we refer to them as a door chime versus a doorbell.  A doorbell typically makes the “ding-dong” sound while a door chime typically plays a more sophisticated chime sound.  The Dimango Carlon RC3250, for example, has 13 sound options.  You can play the traditional “Westminster Chime” or “Take Me Out to the Ball Game,” whichever you are in the mood for.  All wireless doorbells feature privacy codes allowing you to change the frequency in-case of interference.

We often get calls from customers who have an older wired doorbell but they cannot hear it well or it isn’t chiming any more.  A nice solution we have is the RC3200 Extend-A-Chime.  The RC3200 comes with two pieces.  One is a small matchbook sized transmitter you wire into your existing doorbell transformer.   When the outside doorbell pushbutton is pressed, the wireless device sends a wireless signal to the wireless door chime receiver that comes in the kit.   With this easy to install system, you have extended the range of your existing doorbell.  The transmitter has jumper settings on it enabling you to change the chime the receiver plays.  You can also add additional wireless doorbell receivers into the mix for other rooms.

If you want portability and don’t want to have to unplug the existing receiver, you could also purchase a battery operated wireless doorbell.  Essentially, they are exactly the same as the plug-in version except they are powered by batteries versus being plugged in.  The battery powered wireless doorbells are offered in a variety of styles and many of them look like your typical doorbell you would see hanging on the interior wall of your home.  Some have wooden covers.

Many people, when thinking about doorbells don’t tend to think in terms of security but we do.  Entrance alerts, Entry Alarms, Exit Alarms, and Driveway Alarms share many commonalities with wireless doorbells.  Over the years we have become very familiar with these products and continue to offer them on our website.  A good entry alarm does just what the name implies—it sends an alert to a receiving unit when a door or window, is opened or a detection zone detects movement.  Our largest seller in this category is the DA50L-A, or Door Alert 50L-A.  This set has a high quality PIR based motion sensor you mount over the detection zone.  When movement is detected, it sends a wireless signal to a plug in receiver.  Zone capable, the receiver can play four different sounds so you can group the sensors into four different zones.

Our number one selling Wireless Driveway Alarm is the Di2000S-A by Security2020.  This product has an incredible range of up to 3,000 feet from the transmitter to the receiver.  The transmitter is a PIR based Sensor that will detect any type of movement within the detection zone.  When movement is detected, the transmitter sends the wireless signal to alert you.  We have other driveway alarm offerings that will only detect cars and some with a wireless range of up to several miles.  So not only does a doorbell or door chime add to your home security, with a solid driveway alarm, you can now be alerted when someone or something enters your property.

We are also proud to carry a wide assortment of DIY Home Security Products.  These products are Skylink Wireless Home Security products and are wireless from the sensors to the control panel.  Our core package is the SC-1000 Deluxe Security Kit.  This kit comes with a control panel, an auto-dialer, two window/door sensors, and a key fob.  Although this system is not designed to be central monitored, the auto-dialer enables you to store preselected phone numbers to be dialed at the event of an intrusion.  This is a great, inexpensive solution that you can start out with, and grow at a later date.  You will find it is super easy to install and add on to.
