We take a hybrid approach by taking the beautiful door chime cabinets by Craftmade and inserting the Carlon door chime electronics inside the cabinet. This means you will get a dramatically increased operating range AND door chime compatibility with the Carlon Dimango Door Chimes. For example, you can purchase one of the decorative designer door chimes below and also purchase an add-on wireless door chime receiver to extend the chime sound in other rooms.
Another benefit of this system is you the additional melodies the come with the Carlon Wireless Chime units versus the simple "ding" sound produced by the usual Craftmade wireless chimes.

The published range of these wireless door chimes is "up to" 130 feet. What this means that with line of site between the products you will get an operational range between the transmitter and receiver of up to 130 feet. Environmental factors such as metal doors, stucco, concrete, metal, etc. WILL diminish the operating range. This should not be an issue for most situations because typically the transmitter (wireless push button) is located outside the front door and the door chime receiver is mounted in the foyer.
However, if you need additional range, please take a look at the Dimango Carlon Wireless Plug in Door Chimes. Although the published range of these doorbells is typically 150 ft., you will get more of a consistent range because of the technology these door chimes us. If your doorbell or door chime is going off without you pushing the door chime button, chances are it is a privacy issue. This simply means that there is a wireless device operating on the same frequency your door chime is operating on. The good news is that changing the operating frequency, or "privacy codes" is simple.
One the back of the door chime receiver you will notice a group of small metallic wires, usually shaped like half circles. In most cases, these wires are labeled "A,B,C,D,E" (could be more or less depending on the model). Using a pair of nail clippers or other cutting device, cut or snip any combination of wires. You can snip "A," "A and B," "B," "B and C," or what ever you want to snip. This will change the door chime to receive on a very specific frequency.
Next you will need to locate the same wires on the wireless push button. On most models the same small wire loops are located inside the case of the doorbell button. Open the case and located these wires. You will need to snip these wires in the SAME EXACT pattern you snipped the codes on the receiver. For example, if you snipped "B" on the door chime receiver, you have to snip "B" on the door chime button. If you snip "B" and "E," for example, on the receiver, you must snip "B" and "E" on the button. If the wires you snip do not match EXACTLY on the button and the receiver, they will not operated on the same frequency and therefore will not be able to communicate with each other.
