Common Application for Window/Door Alarms:

For child safety, mount a window/door alarm sensor on the pool gate or patio door leading out to the pool.  When ever the gate is opened, a wireless signal is sent to the plug in receiver alerting you that this even has happened.  You can also expand this system by adding additional receivers, both battery powered and plug in versions.  If you have a swimming pool, most states require some sort of warning device that will alert the guardian when a door leading out to the pool is opened.  Most parents want that additional peace of mind to know when that door opens or a window leading out to the pool opens.  Because of the compatibility of the Carlon/Dimango products, you can also mount a wireless motion detector as well.  So not only will you receive an alarm when the door or window opens, you can add another layer of safety by having the PIR motion sensor alert you to movement within the pool area.  The RC3260 and RC2260 sets ship out with the necessary mounting hardware need to mount the sensor.  These sensors are powered by a 9-volt battery and are actually light enough to mount with double-sided tape.

You may also place a window/door alarm on a cabinet where you store cleaning supplies.  If a child opens the door, the receiver plays a chime sound or alarm sound.

Many home owners neglect to lock up the storage shed.  Place an outdoor rated door/window sensor on the shed door.  If the door is opened, an alarm or chime sound is played on the receiver.

In business or commercial applications, place a door sensor or window alarm on the storage closet or IT room door.  When that door is opened, you will receive instant notification.

Many of the door or window alarms listed below are also expandable.  The RC3260, for example, is capable of playing up to 13 different tunes.  You could then group different sensors to play different tunes to alert you to specific areas.  You can also add additional receivers to expand the listening area.  If you currently have a wireless door chime set, and extend-a-chime, or other wireless Dimango, Carlon, Lamson and Sessions, or Thomas and Betts product, there is a good probability they are compatible with each other. 

The DC1 and DH994 are purely mechanical and completely wireless.  Both systems have a magnetized plunger.  As the door is opened, the plunger is pulled back until the magnet cannot hold it any longer.  The plunger is release and strikes a metal plate inside producing a "dong" sound.
