Motion based entrance alerts provide security by alerting you to movement within a monitored area. These type of entrance alerts are great because they are so versatile; you can mount them in many different areas to provide monitoring for many different types of situations. Our customers use these entrance alert chimes to monitor areas like their stock room, changing rooms, or other secure areas. At our company, we use these entrance alarms There are two typical limitations customers come across when dealing with motion based, wireless entrance alerts and that is range and whether they are indoor or outdoor rated. At our office, we use them to monitor the supply closets.
For just about every commercial application, we recommend the DA50L-A (TX/RX1000A) by Rodann Electronics. This state of the art entry alarm has a wireless transmission range of 1,000-2,000 feet, depending on potential interference from environmental factors. Most motion based, wireless motion detectors will have a range in the 100 feet range. At first glance, you may assume this range will suffice for your office, once you deal with the metal on door frames that you typically find in commercial buildings, that range dramatically decreases. The DA50L-A works well for most uses you intent to use it for, however, some of our customers have asked us for an outdoor rated motion based entrance alert. Prior to the product we are about to describe we would recommend one of the wireless driveway alarm products. They will work just as well with one exception. Driveway alarm sensor will tend to shoot a straight line across a given area whereas an entrance alert will transmit a wider reaching monitoring zone.
The IRPR-3000 and IRWR-3000 is an outdoor rated, motion based wireless entrance alert compatible with the Dakota Alert 3000 series of products. Both kits consist of the IR-3000 wireless PIR sensor and a receiver, either a handheld portable version or a plug-in base receiver. The IR-3000 is a feature rich motion based sensor. With a range from sensor to receiver of up to 650 feet, the IR-3000 is powered by a 9-volt battery. The PIR sensor has three range settings; high (40′), medium (25′), low (12′). The sensor also features a LED you can set on or off to blink when motion is detected. Another nice feature on this sensor is it has a lens cover that you could easily break into different sized lens covers to alter the viewing angle.
The two kits feature either the PR-3000 or the WR-3000. The PR-3000 is a handheld receiver with an included rechargeable lithium battery. The handheld receiver can clip on your belt and is small enough to fit in your pocket. The Wr-3000 is a plug-in base station. As with all the 3000 series products by Dakota, they all communicate with each other allowing you to easily expand the system.
