We have all been to businesses that utilize some sort of driveway or entrance alert system. This could be some place like a dry cleaner, fast food drive through window or bank, but many of us may not have thought much about using these types of devices in our homes or around our personal property. The uses are virtually endless and you may be surprised at the many missed opportunities you may have been unaware of.
Knowing that someone is on your property, whether an invited guest or unwanted visitor, can give you a sense of security knowing that you are aware of your surroundings. To me, there is nothing more startling than your doorbell ringing, especially late at night, when you weren’t expecting anyone. My front door is half glass, so I always feel a sense of intrusion that someone is looking into my home before I even know they are there. This is helpful around a swimming pool or the storage area for swimming pool supplies such as chemicals, cleaning equipment, etc. An alert will ensure that the area is secured.
Another use for a driveway alert around your home is near an outdoor storage shed of some sort. This may include a storage area where lawn mowers, lawn edgers and other power equipment are stored. You will know immediately if someone is trying to access this area.
Playgrounds can also pose a potential hazard to young children, as well as grill areas. Setting up a driveway alarm in this area will help immensely and help ease your mind that children and pets are safe from unknowingly hurting themselves.
Driveway alerts are immensely more useful than being solely for use in driveways. If you intend to use them in places such as a backyard which may be frequented often, consider one which has an on/off switch. This feature is even helpful in the driveway if you intend to have a large party or many guests stop in, such as Thanksgiving or even Halloween trick-or-treaters.
