Ding Dong the Doorbell is Ringing! You have company!

in Doorbells and Door Chimes, wireless doorbells

One of the best sounds that any person can hear is their doorbell ringing. The sound of the doorbell is the universal symbol for someone being outside of your home and wanting in. Sure, not all of the people who are going to end up ringing your doorbell are friends. In fact, some of them may be your enemies. Some may be solicitors. Some may just be ding dong ditcher!  But the simple knowledge that someone wants your attention badly enough to ring that doorbell of yours should bring joy to your heart.

Ok, so really. Who gets that excited about doorbells? Sure, doorbells can be a sign that someone you truly want in your house is outside of your front door waiting. Maybe it’s your girlfriend. Maybe it’s the boys coming for your weekly BBQ. Or maybe it’s one of those companies that likes to give away thousands of dollars directly to people’s homes. But at the same time doorbells can often be ominous signs. Solicitors are almost always unwanted. Your mother in law isn’t exactly a welcome guest. Whoever the company is outside of your door, however, you need to make sure that you’re able to assess the situation and react accordingly. The only issue is whether or not you’re able to hear that tell tale ring.

Many houses are two stories tall. These houses are built so that housing companies can save on land cost. Rather than building a really long or really wide house they just build up. It’s good for the environment and it’s good for the budget. The only issue is the doorbell. The speakers are oftentimes only located downstairs. Whether it’s the budget cuts or just pure laziness, that bell can oftentimes not be heard throughout the house. This goes especially true for the upstairs portion of the house. Sound just doesn’t travel that far, especially when directed through the usually small speaker systems that doorbells use.

This is where wireless doorbells come in. Sometimes you can purchase these systems as a standalone. You have a dedicated unit that is battery powered that hangs outside of your front door. When people want in, they then push that button. Once that button is pushed a wireless signal goes to the speaker system that is paired with the button. When the speaker receives the signal it then makes the ring that you are so used to hearing. These types of systems are beneficial because you can put that speaker in the part of the house where it’s needed most! No more do you have to wait downstairs for that package that needs to be signed. With a good wireless system you can hang out anywhere in the house and still hear the ring.

These systems can also be used to augment the system that’s already found within your home. With a few simple wire connections your wireless speaker receives a signal from your wired speaker and repeats whatever sound the wired speaker makes. It really is that simple.
